Joseph Squier is an Associate Provost Fellow and Professor in the Department of Art and Design, at the University, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His network-based art has been featured in the New York Times and numerous recent books on emerging electronic media. Squier is one of the founding editors of the literary/visual culture magazine Ninth Letter. UIUC has recognized his exemplary work by designating Squier as both a University Scholar and a Distinguished Teacher/Scholar.
