Gutgsell Endowed Professor: Todd Martinez

Todd Martinez is Gutgsell Professor of Chemistry and a faculty affiliate in the Theoretical and Computational Biophysics Group at the Beckman Institute.  He received a B.S. from Calvin College and his Ph.D. from the University of California.  Professor Martinez was named a MacArthur Fellow in 2005 and was previously a Fulbright Fellow at the Fritz Haber Institute for Molecular Dynamics in Jerusalem and a University of California Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow at UCLA.  His fields of professional interest are chemistry involving electronic excited states, electronic structure of transition metals in biological systems, and ab initio molecular dynamics.
